This instructional coaching session was extremely informative, especially as someone who is new to instructional coaching but will be expected to coach others and help individuals develop their own coaching practices. The session gave me a strong foundation for understanding what instructional coaching is and how it can be implemented effectively.
The materials were clear, concise, and easy to follow, so there was no guessing about how to use them. I also appreciated that the resources could be adapted for different groups and contexts. The session emphasized that instructional coaching is not a one-size-fits-all model and provided practical examples of how to make thoughtful adaptations based on the needs of the group.
The facilitator also modeled effective engagement throughout the six-hour Saturday session. She incorporated appropriate breaks and used a variety of instructional formats, which helped participants remain engaged. Rather than only providing information herself, she created opportunities for participants to learn from one another and share their own knowledge and experiences. This reinforced the idea that everyone in the room brought valuable expertise to the conversation. Overall, the session was practical, engaging, and highly beneficial to my professional development.-
